Entertaining overview of history and development of concepts for film editing.
Nice use of historical clips to illustrate concepts and to educate and inform. An essential part of my film instruction library.
Moves too fast
There is valuable information in this DVD, but its usefulness is limited by its practice of skimming over the topics. Technical terms are used but rarely explained or insufficiently explained for novices. And anyone with some technical knowledge of film would learn little from it.
The film clips are brief and rarely interpreted in any depth but it would serve as an introduction to someone unfamiliar with editing. And since it's free, it is certainly worth trying.
